Letterpress come and get it!

While consecutive numbering, perforating, scoring and die cutting would seem part of a normal bag of tricks for most printing companies. Master Color actually performs all those trade specialties right at the plant on Vernon Street just outside of Historic Roseville. Our mighty fleet of cylinder presses carve out our niche in a profession which seems to get smaller and smaller. Show off your printing project with curvy edges, show your slits and get your grooooves notched! Wink…

Clinging to print with “Cling Z” static stickers….

“Cling Z” makes a great product that sticks on any surface using Static Cling and NO adhesive!! The charged stock is water proof and stays on applied surfaces for months. It can be removed and re-applied many times before wearing out it’s charge. Acts a lot like a static cling sticker but it’s much better!!! Master Color prints on this special stock error free and often. Use it to advertise your company name or specialties in the darndest places by applying the label on wood, metal, plastic or glass. Ask Tammy for a sample….Hey have a very Happy and safe New Year…Cheers!!!

Christmas Cheer & Holidays are here!!! Bring it on…..

a "Tammy Claus" siting!!

Giving the gift of great printing is a treat, being able to provide that gift with quality and loyalty at a fair price is even better! While Most of us including Master Color are glad to see 2011 go “bye bye”, many lessons have been learned from a not so great year of events. Learning from those events has made all of us better and stronger, making what we do resemble even more of a gift to our clients. It’s all about the little things. Master Color has learned once again to sharpen our skills during this exceptional year. To close 2011 on a positive note, we would like to share one of our secrets of success “LISTENING” pass it along, use it anywhere at any time as it is never fattening to listen. Another way to say “Care & Love”.

Now lets have Turkey and Pie!!!

Is November the month for “Master Color Thanks”?

While we are all trying to do more with less….less people, less stress, less money, it’s important to make time and acknowledge the good things in our work and home lives. November seems to be the month that represents “thankfulness”. More so than other months of the year and Master Color would like to take this opportunity to openly thank it’s incredible staff, hard working vendors and super cool clients for all their team work. We’ve all done more with less this year and that’s something to be thankful for.

Let’s Give ‘Em Something to Talk About

Posted on 10/31/2011

Are people talking about your business? Your brand needs to pique enough interest to stay top of mind. Although social media is an absolutely essential way to harness the power of customer conversation, most word of mouth still occurs offline. Here are four fresh offline ideas to create buzz around your business.

Embrace Your Errand-ness
If frequenting your business falls along the lines of “errands” for your customers, don’t fight the stigma. Use it to your advantage. Customers who’ve been running around all morning will appreciate a cup of hot cocoa at the dry cleaners, mostly because it’s unexpected. It’s homey. It’s service-oriented. It gets people talking.

Tell a Story
Humanize your staff by spotlighting one of them. Ask a staff member with an eye for photography to take portraits of everyone, and feature an employee in your office (or the window) every month.

Add an interesting fact to the display, and you may get tongues wagging. The tidbit doesn’t have to be overly personal, but interesting enough to spark conversation. Your IT guru’s new Labrador may not matter to many, but if your receptionist golfed at St. Andrews last summer, you’ve struck gold.

Sign Here
If you’re a walk-in business, get a guestbook. Having a guestbook is a great way to focus on customer experience and adds charm to your office or store. Train staff to invite customers to sign it before they leave. Encourage them to write their thoughts about your business. If you leave colored pencils out, you’ll be surprised by how many more people participate.

Celebrate Minor Holidays
Last week we celebrated national Clean Your Desktop Day. If there’s a holiday for creating new folders and deleting old downloads, there’s certainly one that pertains to your business. Find that holiday, and design a special promotion around it. Tailors can offer free repairs on national Count Your Buttons Day, and bookstores can host a BOGO sale on Reading is Fun Day. The more obscure, the better.

The trick to making this idea work for you is advertising your special well in advance. Use word of mouth marketing to scare up some interest—because if they’re not talking about you, they’re not buying from you, either.

GET YOUR MARKETING IN GEAR FOR 2012

Get Your Marketing in Gear for 2012

Over this past year, you’ve read post after post and tweet after tweet about what you should be doing to better your marketing efforts. Well, 2012 is just around the corner (crazy, right?), and it’s time to actually take action on beefing up your marketing for the upcoming year. While planning your marketing for 2012, here are a few ideas to incorporate into your plan.

QR Codes

Quick Response Codes aren’t something new, but that doesn’t mean you’ve tried them yet. It’s time to realize that using QR codes isn’t about slapping one on a marketing piece and waiting to see what happens. You need to use them strategically to grow your business. Make sure you create a landing page on your website for each QR code you have so visitors that took the time to scan have a specific call to action and you can measure results.

Start a Blog

What better addition to your website is there than a blog? Okay, that was rhetorical—you don’t need to answer that. Having a blog on your website is a great way of building your brand and positioning yourself as an expert in what you do. Posting, even just once a week, shows that your website isn’t stagnant and that it’s constantly being updated. Plus search engines will find you for the specific area of expertise; and that means your potential customers will as well.

Send Out Newsletters

No matter what those bullies on the web are saying, print isn’t dead. Direct mail is still an effective way to attract customers. Sending out a newsletter is a great way to keep your company in the minds of your customers. Make it fun and educational, with content that your readers would appreciate. Heck, you can even include posts from that blog you just started. Remember to keep the newsletter short enough to read in just a few minutes so it doesn’t get thrown in the read later pile.

Think these marketing tactics through, try them out and watch your marketing, along with your business, grow. Get 2012 off to a great start by feeling great about your marketing. You should see some leads start to pour in—and that’s not a bad thing.

Show Your Customers That You Care

Hello October. Welcome the fresh, new month as an opportunity to get your company’s name out there. What better month to show your customers that you care about them and the community as a whole.

Create a Quality Promotion
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Many companies have found ways to team with breast cancer research organizations that create mutually beneficial promotions. Take a lesson from those cause marketing pros and work with a charity that you care about. Develop special promotions with a certain percentage of revenue benefitting your nonprofit organization. This shows that you care about your community while still thinking of your customers.

Hold a Fundraiser
Nonprofit organizations aren’t the only ones that can hold fundraisers. This month, consider putting on a fundraising event with your partner charity. Invite your customers, prospects and community to the event. This helps you connect to your community on a more personal level. A good community event will surely help you gain trust.

When planning, be creative. Partner with an organization that fits your culture and how your business operates. Just because you’re doing something to benefit others doesn’t mean your business shouldn’t benefit as well. But keep in mind that you need to put yourself second in a cause marketing promotion.
